Sales Associate
Tripler Army Medical Center - Honolulu, Hawaii
Sells medical and dental equipment and supplies, except drugs and medicines, to doctors, dentists, hospitals, medical schools, and retail establishments. An intermediate level position embarking on their training/customer service journey.
Responsibilities include
- Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
- Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes sellable features.
- Studies data describing new products to develop sales approaches and advises customers technical knowledge of products.
- Compiles data on equipment and supplies preferred by customers.
- Advises customers of equipment for given needs based on technical knowledge of products.
- Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes sellable features.
- Provides customers with advice in such areas as office layout, legal and insurance regulations, cost analysis, and collection methods to develop goodwill and promote sales.
- Assists with monitoring inventory to aid in ordering merchandise and/or prepare requisitions to replenish merchandise on hand.
- Assists in monthly inventory and investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
- Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts and enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into the company database.
- Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
- Participates in traditional and e-learning programs and works effectively with other company employees, managers, and departments.
- Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of the firm's production and delivery schedules.
- Performs all job functions with Company Mission, Vision, and Goal Statements in mind.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- An Intermediate level position embarking on their training/customer service journey, healthcare or related field is preferred.

- Strong verbal and written skills using word, excel and any other program or tools required for completing job tasks
- Willingness to learn and apply experience.
- Required to work 30-35 hours per week.
- Must be able to work in an office and use standard office equipment that is not limited to fax and copy machines, lift to 10 pounds, vision to read materials and computer screens, and speech to communicate over the phone and sit for extended periods of time.
- Understand and apply mathematical concepts such as basic algebra and geometry to such tasks as figures, discounts, percentages, addition, and subtraction.
Experience
- 1-2 years’ experience healthcare or related field is preferred.
- H.S Diploma or GED.
